Mobile Gateways
3GPP Mobile Gateways connect cellular core networks to the public Internet. From a firewall or routing perspective, these gateways represent legitimate carrier infrastructure that supports services such as Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi), RCS messaging, roaming, and core signaling.
Mobile Gateways and IPsec VPN
Mobile gateways commonly use IPsec to secure traffic between subscriber devices and the carrier core. While this encryption is essential for privacy and service integrity, it can create challenges in enterprise and public networks.
Netify Mobile Gateway intelligence allows network managers to distinguish legitimate 3GPP mobile gateway IPsec traffic from higher-risk consumer VPN traffic. This data enables more granular policy decisions - allowing carrier gateway traffic while maintaining restrictions on unmanaged VPN services.
Mobile Gateway Datasets
The Mobile Gateway data is available as downloadable datasets, updated weekly to reflect infrastructure changes.
Mobile Gateway Data in APIs
The Mobile Gateway data is also integrated into our Hostname API and IP API, allowing real-time enrichment and automated detection within security workflows.
