IP Protocol Status - Active
IPv6 was formalized in RFC 2473 (1998) and put to wide use by 6to4 (RFC 3056), and still functions today, though usage has declined as native IPv6 spread.
IP Protocol Network Policy
Allow on hosts or routers running 6in4/6to4 IPv6-over-IPv4 tunnels; this encapsulation is needed for IPv6 transition mechanisms but irrelevant to native dual-stack or IPv4-only networks.
