This page details the over 2,500 applications detected by the Netify Agent. The catalog is also available through the Application API.

You can reference the application ID, tag, and category tag in flow expressions to accurately identify and control network traffic at the application layer. The application information is also provided in various telemetry data formats.

The application layer identifies the specific service or app running within a flow (e.g., Spotify, Proton VPN, Zoom), giving integrators clear visibility into how their network is actually being used.

Building on the IP Protocol and Protocol layers below it, the Application layer turns network and communication context into a recognizable service or application classification. It is typically the most familiar of Netify's network classification layers and, when combined with Intelligence, provides additional context about behaviors and characteristics that application identification alone cannot reveal.
