IP Protocol Status - Active
IPv6-Route has been part of the IPv6 spec since the 1990s (now RFC 8200) and remains active, though its Type 0 variant was deprecated in RFC 5095 for security reasons.
IP Protocol Network Policy
IPv6-Route is needed for IPv6 source routing and Mobile IPv6, and is often blocked by default at network boundaries since the deprecated Type 0 variant enabled traffic amplification.
