Best Practices
UPnP traffic should stay on the local network. Routers that support the UPnP Internet Gateway Device (IGD) profile let any local device open firewall ports without approval, which can expose internal hosts to the Internet. Disable UPnP on the router if it is not needed, and never expose UPnP services to the Internet.
