Responding to the continued diversification in the types of environments Netify Deep Packet Inspection engine is being applied, adding the ability to decode GPRS Tunneling Protocol became essential. Working closely with a talented team of engineers in Europe focused on solutions for Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO), Netify appends GTP-U metadata such as the unique Tunnel Endpoint Identifier (TEID) between the Serving Gateway and Packet Data Network Gateway to flow metadata already containing the application and protocol classifications.
